What does 97% AFUE actually mean for my heating bill?
AFUE is the share of the fuel that ends up as usable heat. At 97% AFUE, about 97% of the gas you burn heats the house and only ~3% is lost. If you're replacing an older 80% furnace, that's a meaningful efficiency gain across a long Ontario winter. Your actual savings depend on your home's size, insulation, and gas rates, so we don't promise a dollar figure — we size and quote it for your house.
What sizes does the Prestige Comfort 97 come in, and how do I know which I need?
It's available in 45,000, 70,000, 90,000, and 110,000 BTU/h heat inputs. Bigger isn't better — an oversized furnace short-cycles and heats unevenly. Megacity does a heat-load calculation based on your home's square footage, windows, and insulation to pick the right size rather than just matching whatever you have now.
Is this furnace eligible for an Ontario rebate?
No. Government rebates in Ontario apply to heat pumps and heat-pump water heaters, not to standard gas furnaces, so the Prestige Comfort 97 doesn't qualify. What's covered under warranty, and do I have to do anything to keep it?
The heat exchanger carries a limited-lifetime warranty and the parts carry a 10-year limited warranty — but the lifetime coverage requires the unit to be registered after install. Megacity handles that registration for you. Keep up with annual maintenance, since most manufacturer warranties expect the furnace to be properly installed and serviced.
