Markham homeowners choose Megacity HVAC for dependable heating and cooling service. From Unionville to Cornell, Markham Village to Milliken — our certified technicians deliver expert HVAC installations, repairs, and maintenance. We're an authorized Lennox dealer and Enbridge Sustain Trusted Partner, ensuring you get quality equipment at the best value. Markham is one of the GTA's fastest-growing municipalities, with large new subdivisions in Cornell and Cathedraltown alongside established 1980s–90s neighbourhoods in Milliken and Buttonville. Our team is experienced with both the builder-grade HVAC systems common in newer Markham homes and the aging equipment in older developments that needs upgrading.
Markham's housing stock is predominantly newer suburban construction — 1980s and 1990s two-storey detached homes in areas like Milliken and Buttonville, and 2000s-era large detached homes in Cornell and Cathedraltown. Many of these homes came with builder-grade mid-efficiency furnaces and standard 13-SEER AC units that are now reaching end of life. Newer Markham developments often feature open-concept layouts with vaulted ceilings that create airflow challenges, requiring properly sized equipment and sometimes zoning systems to maintain even temperatures across two or three floors.
Markham reads differently on either side of Highway 7. South of it, Milliken and the older streets around Markham Village and Thornhill are 1970s and 1980s two-storeys and side-splits where the air conditioning was usually added years after the house was built. North and east, Cornell, Berczy Village, Cathedraltown and Angus Glen went up from the late 1990s onward, so those homes are hitting the age where the builder-installed furnace and AC both come due at once. Homes off Major Mackenzie and 16th Avenue often run three finished levels on one thermostat.
Markham sits on higher ground north of Toronto and tends to see colder winter nights and earlier frost than lakefront communities. The large lot sizes and exposed suburban layouts in areas like Cornell and Angus Glen mean homes face more wind exposure, making proper attic insulation and a reliable high-efficiency furnace essential for keeping heating costs manageable.

All specifications are published by the manufacturer. We install and service these systems across Toronto & the GTA.
Describe the issue. We dispatch a technician with common parts already on board.
We test refrigerant pressure, electrical connections, heat exchangers, and airflow — finding the root cause, not just the symptom.
A clear explanation and a fixed price. You approve before any work starts.
We fix or install, run a complete system cycle, confirm temperatures, and clean up before leaving.
Most are resolved same-day with parts we carry on our trucks.
Around Markham Village and Milliken the central air was added long after the house. The ducts were sized for heating only, so the top floor never quite catches up on a hot afternoon.
Cornell and Berczy houses were finished with a basic furnace and AC at the same time. Twenty years on, both tend to fail within a season or two of each other.
Larger homes off Major Mackenzie and 16th Avenue were built with a single zone. The basement stays cold, the top floor stays warm, and the thermostat in the hallway reports that everything is fine.
Angus Glen and Cathedraltown houses with two-zone systems often have a damper motor that quit years ago. One zone runs permanently open and the other never gets what it is asking for.
Finished basements and above-garage rooms in the newer subdivisions frequently get a ductless head. Line-set flare leaks and blocked condensate pumps are the two calls we see most.
A one-inch filter in a high-static return starves a variable-speed blower. It is the cheapest thing on the system and the most common reason a good furnace short-cycles.

As a certified Enbridge Sustain Trusted Partner, we offer Markham homeowners a new furnace, AC, heat pump, or water heater with nothing down. The Sustain lease-to-own program keeps the upfront cost at $0. In-house rebates available — ask at your quote. We don't file government rebate paperwork for customers.
If your air conditioner is running badly or not at all, start with AC Repair Markham. If it is past saving or you are cooling a house that has never had central air, use AC Installation Markham. If you are not sure which, call and describe the symptoms. Talking it through takes two minutes and saves you a diagnostic on a unit that is already finished.
We work out of East York, so Markham is up the 404 or Kennedy depending on where you are. It is inside our normal service area. We give you an arrival window when you book rather than a fixed minute promise, because the 404 at 4pm is not the 404 at 10am.
Usually the air conditioner, because the builder-grade condensers of that era were sized to the minimum. The furnace often has a few years left, but the two were installed the same week, so it is worth pricing them together. Replacing both at once costs less than two separate visits and lets us match the blower to the coil properly.
Yes. We service the major ductless brands, and most of what we find is refrigerant weeping at a flare fitting, a failed condensate pump, or a blower wheel packed with dust. We check the line set and the drain path before touching refrigerant, since a slow leak that gets topped up instead of fixed comes back the following summer.
Tell us what your system is doing and we will get back to you fast. Same-day service available across Markham and the GTA — or call and talk to a real person now.
