Cold-Climate Heat Pump (Gas-heated home)
Enbridge Gas customers receive $500 per ton of heat pump capacity, up to a $2,000 maximum, on a qualifying cold-climate air-source heat pump. No EnerGuide audit required when installed as a single upgrade.
Cold-Climate Heat Pump (Electric / Oil / Propane / Wood)
Homes heated with electricity, oil, propane, or wood receive $1,250 per ton of heat pump capacity, up to a $7,500 maximum. No EnerGuide audit required when installed as a single upgrade.
Ground-Source (Geothermal) Heat Pump
Geothermal systems qualify for the higher tier: $3,000 flat for gas-heated homes, or $2,000/ton (up to $12,000) for electric/oil/propane/wood-heated homes.
Heat Pump Water Heater
$500 back on a qualifying ENERGY STAR-certified heat pump water heater (HPWH). No home energy assessment required.
Smart Thermostat
ENERGY STAR-certified smart thermostats connected to a qualifying heating system. HRS increased the rebate from $75 to $100 in 2026.
Insulation Upgrades
Attic, wall, foundation, and exposed floor insulation. Bundled with other upgrades when a home energy assessment is completed.

Home Renovation Savings Program
StackableEnbridge Gas + Save On Energy (Ontario Government)
Ontario's main rebate program for home energy upgrades. Covers heat pumps, heat pump water heaters, insulation, smart thermostats, windows, doors, and solar panels. No assessment required for single-upgrade installs (heat pump, HPWH, thermostat). Currently extended through November 2026.
BetterHomesTO HELP Loan
StackableCity of Toronto
Toronto's Home Energy Loan Program (HELP). Low-interest financing (currently ~4.95% APR + 2% admin fee) repaid through your property tax bill over up to 15 years (20 years for heat pump, solar, geothermal, or windows). Loan + interest cap is the lesser of $125,000 or 10% of property current value assessment. Stackable cash incentives: $2,500 for cold-climate ducted heat pumps (≥3 indoor units), $2,000 for standard ducted heat pumps, $1,250 for ductless mini-splits, up to $10,000 for Deep Retrofit. Toronto homeowners only.
Oil to Heat Pump Affordability Program (OHPA)

For homeowners switching from oil heating to a qualifying electric heat pump. Up to $10,000 federal funding, plus provincial top-up of up to $5,000 in participating provinces — $15,000 combined maximum. Stacks on top of the provincial Home Renovation Savings rebate. Income eligibility: at or below provincial median after-tax income.
