Kepler LUXE (Ultra Heat)
The Kepler LUXE (Ultra Heat) is a cold-climate inverter heat pump rated to keep heating down to -30C, which matters in a Toronto winter where deep cold snaps are normal. It pairs up to 18 SEER2 cooling with 9.5 HSPF2 heating and an inverter compressor that adjusts in 1% increments, and it sits at a lower price point than the Japanese-brand cold-climate units. Megacity HVAC sizes and installs the LUXE across the GTA as a value-focused way to run heating and cooling off one electric system.

Kepler LUXE (Ultra Heat) — FAQ
Will the Kepler LUXE actually heat my house through a Toronto winter?
The LUXE is the Ultra Heat cold-climate series, rated to produce heat down to -30C, which covers the cold extremes Toronto sees. Output does taper as it gets colder, so for the deepest snaps we'll discuss whether to set it up with backup heat (electric or a gas furnace as a dual-fuel pair). We size it to your home and confirm the right setup during the in-home assessment.
How efficient is it, and what does SEER2 and HSPF2 mean for me?
It's rated up to 18 SEER2 for cooling (16.3 at the 3-ton size) and 9.5 HSPF2 for heating in Region IV. SEER2 measures cooling efficiency and HSPF2 measures heating efficiency over a season; higher numbers mean less energy used for the same comfort. Your real-world savings depend on your home, insulation, and how you use the system.
What size Kepler LUXE do I need?
The LUXE comes in 1.5 to 5 tons (18,000 to 60,000 BTU). The right size depends on your home's square footage, insulation, windows, and layout, not a rule of thumb. We run a heat-load calculation before quoting, because an oversized heat pump short-cycles and an undersized one struggles in the cold. Sizing is part of the quote.
Are there rebates on a heat pump, and what's the warranty?
Heat pumps can qualify for Ontario's current Home Renovation Savings program, but the rebate has to be applied for through a program-registered contractor with a pre- and post-install assessment, and eligibility depends on your home and equipment. We'll tell you honestly whether your project qualifies before you commit. The LUXE carries a 10-year compressor and parts warranty, extendable to 12 years when installed through an authorized dealer.
