Will a single-stage heat pump like the PH5SAN5 keep my house warm through a Toronto winter?

It carries most of the heating load through fall and spring on its own, and it's rated up to 8.1 HSPF2. For the coldest deep-winter stretches we typically set it up in a dual-fuel pairing with your furnace, so the furnace takes over when temperatures drop below the point where the heat pump runs efficiently. We'll spec the changeover during the site visit.

What size PH5SAN5 do I need?

The lineup runs from 1.5 to 5 tons. The right size depends on your home's square footage, insulation, windows and ductwork, not just the old unit's rating. We do a proper heat-loss/heat-gain load calculation before quoting, because an oversized heat pump short-cycles and an undersized one runs constantly.

Is this heat pump eligible for an Ontario rebate?

Heat pumps can qualify under Ontario's current Home Renovation Savings program, unlike standard furnaces and ACs.
