Not every furnace problem means you need a new system. If your furnace is under 10 years old, this is a first-time breakdown, and the fix is something minor like an ignitor, flame sensor, or thermostat, repair is almost always the better financial call. Our furnace repair Toronto page covers same-day fixes from $150.
Replacement makes more sense once your furnace passes 15 years old, needs frequent repairs, has a cracked heat exchanger, or a single repair would cost more than half the price of a new unit. Gas bills that keep climbing despite regular maintenance are another sign — older 60–80% AFUE furnaces waste 20 to 40 cents of every gas dollar, while a modern unit captures nearly all of it.
We visit, measure the space, and perform a Manual J load calculation to size the furnace correctly for your home.
We walk through brand, AFUE efficiency, and budget options — no pressure, just the right fit for your home and gas bill.
Old furnace removed, new unit set, venting and gas connections made, thermostat wired and programmed — typically 4 to 8 hours.
Full combustion and safety test, heat cycle verification, walkthrough with you, and complete cleanup before we leave.

A new furnace in Toronto costs $3,000 to $7,000 installed, and a typical 1,500–2,500 sq ft home replacement runs $3,500 to $6,500 all-in — equipment, labour, permits, and old-unit removal. The range depends on furnace type (single-stage, two-stage, or modulating), brand, and whether ductwork needs modification. See our full 2026 furnace cost breakdown for line-item pricing.
Replace if your furnace is over 15 years old, needs frequent repairs (more than once per season), has a cracked heat exchanger, or the repair cost exceeds 50% of a new unit's price. Rising gas bills despite normal usage also point to declining efficiency. If your furnace is under 10 years old and the fix is minor — an ignitor, a flame sensor, a thermostat — repair almost always makes more sense than replacement.
A standard furnace replacement takes 4 to 8 hours in a single day. If your home needs ductwork modifications — common when upgrading from an older mid-efficiency unit to a high-efficiency condensing furnace that requires new PVC venting — the job can extend to a second day. We schedule installations to minimize disruption and clean up fully when the work is done.
We are an Authorized Lennox Dealer and also install Goodman, Ducane, Daikin, and Kepler. Every unit is sized with a proper Manual J load calculation rather than matched to the nameplate on the old furnace, because an oversized furnace short-cycles, wears out the heat exchanger early, and still leaves rooms unevenly heated.
No. Standard furnace replacements are not eligible for Ontario's Home Renovation Savings program — that rebate is reserved for cold-climate heat pumps. As a certified Enbridge Sustain Trusted Partner, we can install a new furnace with $0 down through the lease-to-own program instead, with maintenance and repairs included in one monthly payment.
For most Toronto homes, yes. A 96% AFUE furnace wastes only 4 cents of every gas dollar compared to 20 cents for an 80% AFUE unit — roughly $300 to $500 in annual savings on a typical Toronto heating season. The price difference between an 80% and 96% AFUE furnace is usually $1,500 to $2,500, so the higher-efficiency unit typically pays for itself in 3 to 5 years, then keeps saving for the rest of its 15- to 20-year life.
